Hoy os quiero contar mi experiencia veraniega en Arlés (Francia). De vuelta a España desde Croacia, pasamos por Trieste, Italia, y en Francia paramos en Arlés, Avignon y Pond de Gard. Desde el 3 de julio y hasta el 19 de septiembre, Arlés celebró una nueva edición de Les Reencontres d´Arles. 60 exposiciones de fotografía contemporánea que convocaron a artistas de todo el mundo y que proponían seis recorridos, acompañados de sus correspondientes exposiciones e invitados de honor, que iban desde la plástica argentina, introducida por León Ferrari, hasta las prisiones francesas o un Mick Jagger fotografiado a lo largo de su vida y carrera. Un espacio artísitico donde el diálogo y la reflexión fueron las grandes propuestas de una fiesta compuesta por nombres de prestigio. \n \n Outfit: camiseta Bershka, falda Blanco, bolsito Bimba y Lola, cuñas esparto Castañer \n Today I want to tell you my summer experience in Arles (France). Back to Spain from Croatia, go through Trieste, Italy, and France we stopped at Arles, Avignon and Pond de Gard. From 3 July until 19 September, Arles celebrated a new edition of Les Reencontres d'Arles. 60 exhibitions of contemporary photography that attracted artists from around the world and offered six tours, accompanied by their corresponding exposures and guests of honor, ranging from plastic Argentina, introduced by Leon Ferrari, until French prisons or photographed Mick Jagger throughout his life and career. An artistic space where dialogue and reflection were the major proposals of a party made up of prestigious names.\n \n La primera exposición que vimos fue la de Mick Jagger, quien accedió a que Les Reencontres d'Arles creara la primera exposición de la historia, que enfatiza sobre su carrera, desde el objetivo de los más grandes maestros de la fotografía. Fue en la Eglise des Trinitaires.\n The first exhibit we saw was that of Mick Jagger, who agreed to Les Reencontros d'Arles to create the first exhibition of the history, which emphasizes on his career, from the lens of the greatest portrait painters. It was at the Eglise des Prénitaires.\n \n  Un escenario increíble, como en el resto de exposiciones que estaban repartidas por edificios emblemáticos de Arlés que se acondicionaron para la ocasión.\n A gorgeous scenery, as the rest of exhibitions that were spread Arles through emblematic buildings, conditioned for the occasion.\n \n \n Y en cualquier caso, ver al camaleónico Jagger en un despliege de situaciones y edades fue todo un placer.\n \n \n And in any case, see the chameleon Jagger in a display of situations and ages was a pleasure.\n \n \n De allí al espacio Van Gogh, un antiguo hospital donde el pintor pasó parte de su vida, motivo por el cual es conocido Arlés. Como veis en las fotos, uno de sus cuadro está pintado en este patio, solo que en otoño (los árboles no tienen hojas) y la foto está tomada en nuestra visita en el mes de julio pasado. Picasso, amante de las corridas de toros, también venía regularmente a la ciudad, donde además tenía numerosos amigos. Picasso dona en 1971, 57 dibujos a la ciudad, testimoniando su amor particular hacia Arlés.\n \n \n From there, we went to the space Van Gogh, an old hospital where the artist spent part of his life, why is known Arles. As you see in the pictures, one of his painting is maded in this court, but in autumn (the trees have no leaves) and the picture was taken during our visit in the month of July. Picasso, a lover of bullfighting, also came regularly to the city, where he also had many friends. Picasso donated in 1971, 57 drawings to the city, as a witness of his love to Arles.\n \n \n El Café La Nuit es otra de las famosas obras de Van Gogh que forman parte del escenario de las calles de Arlés. Está justo enfrente de la Eglise des Prénitaires donde vimos la exposición de fotos de Jaegger.\n \n \n Cafe La Nuit is another Van Gogh famous´ works. A part of the Arles streets scene. It´s directly opposite the Eglise des Prénitaires where we saw the Jagger´s exhibition. \n \n \n Los restos de las Termas de Constantino que se construyeron al borde del río, en el siglo IV d.C. Aún se puede observar el emplazamiento de las salas de agua caliente, las piscinas y el mecanismo de ventilación del aire caliente que circulaba entre los muros a través de conductos de ladrillos huecos. Un escenario idílico para contemplar fotos en blanco y negro. \n The remains of the Baths of Constantine which is built on the river, in the fourth century AD You can still see the location of the hot rooms, pools and mechanism of ventilation of hot air circulating through the walls of hollow bricks duct. An idyllic setting to watch black and white photos.\n \n \n Arlés es una ciudad francesa con una herencia romana muy presente. Allí se conserva uno de los anfiteatros más interesantes de Francia, conocido como Las Arenas por las corridas de toros que se celebran pues la ciudad tiene una fuerte tradición taurina. A su lado está el teatro cuya historia data del siglo I A.C. y que se usa para dar recitales y conciertos.\n Arles is a French city with an actual Roman heritage. It remains one of the most exciting arenas of France, known as Las Arenas because of the bullfights that take place because the city has a strong tradition of bullfighting. Next to it is the theater whose history dates back to the first century BC which is used now to give recitals and concerts.\n \n \n Otro de sus monumentos destacables es la iglesia de San Trófimo una antigua catedral románica calificada como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco que se construyó en el siglo XII sobre el emplazamiento de una basílica anterior del siglo V.\n Another notable monuments is the church of San Trophimus an old Romanesque cathedral classified as World Heritage by UNESCO that was built in the twelfth century on the site of a former fifth-century basilica.\n \n \n El claustro es un lugar mágico repleto de figuras humanas que parecían mirarte desde los muros. Y ese pozo... me sentí casi Alicia por un momento (¡mira mi camiseta!)\n The cloister is a magical place filled with human figures that looked like to watch you from the walls. And that well ... I felt almost Alice for a moment (see my shirt!)\n \n \n Los fotógrafos argentinos eran los más críticos y controvertidos, en esta exposición, con imágenes como éstas. Os añado los pie de foto que no tienen desperdicio.\n \n \n The Argentine photographers were the most critical and controversial, in this exhibition, with images like these. I add you the caption that no waste.\n \n \n Esta creo que no necesita ni pie de foto ¿no?\n \n \n I think this doesn´t need explanations ¿isn´t it?\n \n \n Este montaje está hecho con la imagen de la catedral de Trieste. Me sorprendió mucho porque veníamos de esa ciudad. Os lo mostré en este post.\n This assembly was made with the image of the Triestre´s cathedral. I was very surprised because we were from that city. I showed it in this post.\n \n \n Me encantó la ciudad y la oportunidad que me brindó de asistir a esta maravillosa exposición. Y por cierto, ahora hay otra en Madrid que espero no perderme. Se trata de la que se celebra en el Museo del Prado la primera gran exposición que se le dedicará en España a este gran artista del impresionismo que es Renoir.\n I loved the town and the opportunity that provided me to attend this wonderful exhibition. And indeed, now there is another in Madrid that I hope to attend.
